NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS: Change in software used for bidding on MBTA Construction contracts.
Effective June 30, 2019, the Expedite Bid component software will be replaced by the AASHTOWare Project Bids Bid component software. All MBTA bids will be required to be submitted using this new software. Any bid openings prior to the June 30, 2019 date will still be submitted using the current Expedite Bid software. More information will be shared soon.

Effective October 1. 2013, the MBTA will only accept electronic bids for all Construction contracts
The MBTA will fully transition to the use of Bid Express Secure Internet Bidding System for the purpose of receiving bids on all construction projects in accordance with MGL Ch. 30 and Ch 149 as of October 1, 2013. As of October 1, 2013, the MBTA will no longer accept hard copies of bids on any projects.
In order to become an official bidder on projects, bidders must satisfy the requirements of MBTA prequalification and in addition bidders must obtain a Digital ID through the Bid Express website. There is a one-time fee of $100 for the Digital ID as well as a monthly access fee of $35/month for Bid Express in order to submit bids electronically.
The MBTA encourages bidders to create Digital ID's and activate accounts on Bid Express. Bidders applying for digital ID's are advised that MBTA Bidder ID's can be found by entering company name at www.bidx.com/search - Select Bidders tab, Enter company name.
